BMW RDC Bargaining Updates, UAW REGION 9

Bargaining Update 6/4/2024

After a couple of hours of prep, our Bargaining Committee met with the Company from 10:30 until 7:00 pm.  We have finally made some progress and reached tentative agreements on various topics including:

-Agreement to create the “Continuous Improvement Committee” that will address training, quality, and production standards, and give the members a voice on the shop floor.

-True seniority-based vacation scheduling, expanding upon full-week scheduling vs seniority.

-23-hour notice for vacation scheduling, regardless of consecutive days.

Even with this progress, our Bargaining Committee keeps hearing the Company at the bargaining table pressing to take away things we already have like floating holidays and the Company continues to demand the right to implement an aggressive new attendance policy and lengthen the time to issue a disciplinary notice.

And we keep responding NO CONCESSIONS.

Our Bargaining Committee remains focused on securing the advances in the contract that you are demanding and we are getting close to putting our economic demands on the table, your member demands for:

-the END OF TIERS – TIER ONE FOR ALL

-real PROFIT SHARING

-COLA protection for our wages

-stabilizing and reducing the cost of our HEALTH CARE INSURANCE

SHOW YOUR SOLIDARITY IN OUR FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT

TOMORROW SIGN THE PETITION AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR THESE DEMANDS–

AND

REMEMBER – WE ARE MEETING ON SATURDAY, JUNE 8TH, AT OUR HOME LOCAL – LOCAL 677 (2101 MACK BOULEVARD) – FOR A VOTE TO AUTHORIZE OUR BARGAINING COMMITTEE TO CALL A STRIKE IF WE DO NOT GET WHAT WE DESERVE.

Y seguimos respondiendo SIN CONCESIONES.

Y

RECUERDE – NOS REUNIMOS EL SÁBADO 8 DE JUNIO EN NUESTRO LOCAL DE CASA – LOCAL 677 (2101 MACK BOULEVARD) – PARA VOTAR PARA AUTORIZAR A NUESTRO COMITÉ DE NEGOCIACIÓN A CONVOCAR UNA HUELGA SI NO OBTENDEMOS LO QUE MERECEMOS.
