BMW RDC Bargaining Updates, UAW REGION 9

Bargaining Update 6.5.24

Graphic with the UAW Wheel logo and the text "Bargaining Update."

Dear brothers and sisters,

Your bargaining team was working today.  We met with management and presented the members’ initial demands on economic issues.  This includes:

No Tiers-  All employees will be moved up to the top rate prior to applying our 2024 general wage increase (GWI)!

Real profit-sharing-  BMW makes $$, we make $$.  We proposed a profit share similar to BIG 3 autoworkers that would mean thousands of dollars based on BMW’s huge profits.

COLA-  Protecting our wages from inflation throughout the life of the contract.

Bonus-  We demand the bonus yearly, without the employer’s discretion to keep it from us.  And no more moving the goalposts.

Record Wage Increases-  We proposed record wage increases unlike any we’ve seen in any previous contract.

Shift differential increases for the second shift and new differential for mid-shift.

Anniversary vacation-  we get our extra week allotment on our anniversary date.

Increase vacation entitlement by one week after 15 years of service.

We made progress!  We agreed to a safety committee to escalate and address our safety issues at BMW.  We also won a continuous improvement committee to provide workers with a voice in process updates and quality standards and time studies.

Our committee continued to tell management we will not accept concessions and we will not tolerate unfair labor practices meant to keep us from winning a record contract!  Report bad management behavior to your union stewards and bargaining team!

It’s time for BMW, who paid out $7.2 billion in Wall Street dividends last year to do what is right and settle a record contract!  Join us tomorrow at 2:30-4:30 to show BMW we won’t back down!  Stand up UAW at BMW!

Actualización De Negociación En Español 6.5.24

Queridos hermanos y hermanas,
