THE MEDIAN WEEKLY EARNINGS OF FULL-TIME WORKING WOMEN WHO ARE COVERED BY A UNION CONTRACT WAS $899, COMPARED WITH $687 PER WEEK FOR WOMEN NOT REPRESENTED BY A UNION. A 30.9% PAY PREMIUM.

IN 32 STATES, THE UNION WAGE ADVANTAGE WOULD COVER THE COST OF FULL-TIME CHILD CARE FOR AN INFANT.

WOMEN ACCOUNTED FOR 6.6 MILLION OF THE NATION'S 14.6 MILLION UNION MEMBERS IN 2014.

WOMEN'S 45.5% SHARE OF ALL UNION MEMBERS IN 2014 WAS UP FROM 42.6% IN 2004 AND 39.7% IN 1994.

THE LARGEST WAGE ADVANTAGE FOR UNION WORKERS IN THE NATION WAS IN WYOMING, WHERE THE TYPICAL UNION-REPRESENTED FEMALE WORKER EARNED 53% MORE THAN HER NONUNION COUNTERPART.

WOMEN COVERED BY UNION CONTRACTS IN DC HAD THE LOWEST WAGE ADVANTAGE (4.5%), BUT THEIR FEMALE WORKERS-BOTH UNION AND NONUNION- RECEIVE GREATER WEEKLY WAGES THAN ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE NATION.

UNIONS PROVIDED THE LARGEST ADVANTAGE FOR HISPANIC WOMEN, WHO TYPICALLY EARN $739 PER WEEK WHEN REPRESENTED BY A UNION AND $520 WHEN NOT, FOR A 42.1% UNION ADVANTAGE.

A SIGNIFICANTLY GREATER SHARE OF WOMEN COVERED BY UNION CONTRACTS THAN NONUNION WOMEN HAVE A PENSION PLAN (74.1% VERSUS 42.3%).

A SIGNIFICANTLY GREATER SHARE OF WOMEN COVERED BY UNION CONTRACTS THAN NONUNION WOMEN AND CAN ACCESS EMPLOYER-OR UNION- SPONSORED HEALTH INSURANCE (76.6% VERSUS 51.4%).

UNION-REPRESENTED WOMEN WORKING IN NATURAL RESOURCES, CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE JOBS WERE PARTICULARLY ADVANTAGED, NEARLY DOUBLING THE WEEKLY WAGES OF THEIR NONUNION COUNTERPARTS ($989 VERSUS $506).

UNION-REPRESENTED WOMEN HAVE A SMALLER WAGE GAP, EARNING 88.7 CENTS FOR EVERY DOLLAR PAID TO A MAN. BY CONTRAST THE FEMALE-TO-MALE EARNINGS RATIO AMONG ALL WORKERS REGARDLESS OF UNION STATUS IS 78.3%.
