What is Workers’ Memorial Day?

A day for working people and union brothers and sisters to pay tribute to those who have been hurt or killed on the job. Every worker death is a tragedy. Each brother or sister killed or injured on the job represents a family shattered, dreams extinguished, and potential loss. The sad fact is, nearly 4,600 Americans die every year from job-related injuries. An additional 50,000 succumb to work-related illnesses. Another 4 million will be injured on the job.
