International Chemical Workers Union Council
ICWUC parters with the UAW for specific initiatives like worker training and representation, demonstrating solidarity in areas such as health and safety (HAZMAT/RCRA training) and organizing, with both unions collaborating on major projects like those with ICL (Lithium Iron Phosphate manufacturing) to secure union jobs and advocate for workers’ interests across different sectors.
Michigan’s Consultation Education and Training (CET)
CET program partners with the UAW and major employers (e.g., Ford) through the MIOSHA agency to create safer workplaces, offering free training, inspections, and resources to reduce injuries via collaborative, non-enforcement alliances focused on education, best practices, and building strong safety cultures, benefiting both workers and companies.
Consortiums
A consortium is a group made up of two or more individuals, companies, or governments that work together to achieve a common objective. Entities that participate in a consortium pool resource but are otherwise only responsible for the obligations that are set out in the consortium’s agreement (contract). Every entity that is under the consortium, therefore, remains independent regarding their normal business operations and has no say over another member’s operations that are not related to the consortium.
