Who can sign up for UAW text alerts? Anyone! That’s right, it doesn’t matter if you are an active UAW member, one of our UAW retirees, or a UAW supporter—you can sign up to receive text alerts from the UAW.
All you have to do is text “JOIN” to 99795.*
99795 is the special number, or short code, that texts from the UAW will come from. Think of it as the UAW’s phone number—and save it in the contacts on your cell phone.
What happens once you text “Join” to 99795? You’ll receive a series of prompts that ask you some information about yourself like your name, address, email, UAW local, and other vital pieces of information. It may seem like a lot at first, but we use the information to tailor messages to you specifically and make sure that you get the most relevant texts possible, not a bunch of messages that you don’t want.
