What has changed about UAW FCA members’ healthcare coverage in this Tentative Agreement?

The Tentative Agreement includes no change in premiums. This is in contrast to the high level of premium share other American workers employed by large employers pay (on average 18% for single coverage, 25% for family coverage).

The level of benefits also remains the same, but also includes some improvements such as increasing vision and dental coverage for in-progression members. Lasik surgery is also covered for members with a $295 contribution.

Unnecessary emergency and urgent care visits are one of the drivers for spiraling healthcare costs. Tentative Agreement includes a co-pay of $100 for emergency room visits (if not admitted) and $50 for urgent care for in-progression members. This now matches traditional members’ co-pay per the 2011 contract.
