Attend the Winter Leadership Institutes at Black Lake

Each year the International UAW hosts the Winter Leadership Institutes at the Walter and May Reuther UAW Family Education Center in Onaway, Mich.

For a nominal fee of $75 a member can partake in a week-long fun and educational experience at “Black Lake.”

Sessions are held this year:

Mar. 16 – 21

Mar. 23 – 28 (Also available in Spanish)

Mar. 30 – Apr. 4

Every member, for half of the day, attends a general union immersion class focusing on current events and issues, with an emphasis on developing strategies and solutions to fight the attacks facing working people everywhere.

This year union skill-building classes are re-introduced to the line-up. For the other half of the day a participant can choose one of three selections: Collective Bargaining, Grievance Handling and a new offering “UAW 101,” which offers a wealth of knowledge about the history of the labor movement and the UAW.

The educational offerings are tremendous value, but also come to explore the beauty of your Family Education Center and enjoy meeting brothers and sisters from across the U.S., the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and Canada. The food and the camaraderie are not to be missed!

Attached here is the Registration Form. To attend, contact your unit chairperson or local union president – Don’t miss out on this chance to build a better UAW!
