UAW VP Cindy Estrada, Director of the FCA Department, Congratulates Belvidere UAW Members on Jeep Cherokee Most American Award
Cars.com has released its annual American-Made Index, naming the 2018 Jeep Cherokee the most American-made vehicle. The Index ranks cars based on the percentage of parts and supplies originating in the United States. The Jeep Cherokee, assembled by UAW members in Belvidere, Illinois, rose from number 2 in the 2017 rankings to take this year’s top spot.
Cindy Estrada, Director of the UAW FCA Department, congratulated the workers who assemble the Jeep Cherokee, saying “Our UAW members in Belvidere take great pride in the quality American craftsmanship that goes into each Jeep Cherokee. We need more products like the Cherokee, built by UAW members, with more American Union made parts right here in the U.S. for American consumers.”
Other UAW-made vehicles on the list include the Ford Taurus, Chevrolet Volt, Ford Explorer, Ford F-150, and Chevrolet Corvette. For more union-built vehicles, visit our 2018 Vehicle Guide.
