On Wednesday, UAW members joined workers from around the country in a march to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. April 4th marked the 50th anniversary of King’s assassination at a Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. King was in Memphis to support sanitation workers striking over unsafe working conditions.
UAW member Pamela Davidson said of the event, “I’m proud we could come together for a man that really gave his life for our civil rights and pulling us together. Dr. King knew that if you didn’t have a good wage, and we did not help people within the workforce, where are we gonna be?”
