Detroit, MI – UAW members who work at MGM National Harbor (Maryland) overwhelmingly ratified their first agreement on Saturday.  92.4% voted to approve a contract that includes back pay lump sums, base wage increases, game knowledge wage increases, significant reductions in employee-paid healthcare premiums as well as other protections.  The contract will cover approximately 1000 full- and part-time poker and table game dealers at the casino.

“This is a contract that gives meaningful change to the lives of our members at MGM National Harbor,” says UAW President and Director of the National Gaming Department Ray Curry.  “UAW leads in negotiating innovative contracts in gaming, and this agreement is another example of the union difference when it comes to casino workers.”

“The bargaining team and membership knew their value to the company. The demands they made and won reflect that,” adds UAW Region 8 Director Mitchell Smith.  “This first agreement will be a strong foundation as our new members at MGM National Harbor continue to build their local union.”
