UAW and GM Extend Contract Deadline

In a message from UAW Vice President Cindy Estrada and the 2015 UAW-GM National Negotiating Team, the UAW confirmed that they had extended this year’s contract deadline with General Motors. The full statement as it appeared on the UAW’s Facebook page:

A Message from UAW Vice President Cindy Estrada and your 2015 GM National Bargaining Committee

As you are aware, the four-year contract we have with General Motors expires at midnight Monday, September 14, 2015.

This is to advise that the International Union, UAW and General Motors Company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to extend the 2011 National Agreement, which will continue in full force.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our members at General Motors facilities everywhere for the solidarity and patience you have shown us as we work our way through these difficult talks.
