UAW GM National Council Votes to Send Tentative Agreement to Members for Ratification UAW Members to Stay on Strike until Ratification Local General Motors UAW leaders from around the country today announced that the UAW GM National Council voted to accept the Tentative Agreement with General Motors. UAW workers will remain on strike until ratification. The ratification informational meetings and vote will take place beginning Saturday, October 19 and ending Friday, October 25, 2019. Dear Union Brothers and Sisters: We just reached a Tentative Agreement with GM a short time ago, today, Wednesday, October 16, 2019. We will go over the details when the Council meets tomorrow morning in Detroit. On behalf of the entire staff here in Negotiations, we want to thank you for your support. GM Strike Update: Week 5

Today marks the start of the 5th week since UAW members began their strike at General Motors. Members continue to stand strong, despite the challenges that the strike poses for themselves and their families. Dear Union Brothers and Sisters: A short time ago, today, Friday, October 11, 2019, we counterproposed to the Company’s last offer which included all of your outstanding proposals that are all at the main table and unsettled. Our proposal addressed issues of wages, signing bonus, job security, pensions, skilled trades, profit sharing, transfer rights; to name just a few. RE: National Strike – Day 16 Dear Union Brothers and Sisters: Last night, Monday, September 30, 2019, GM passed a comprehensive proposal at 9:40 pm across the bargaining table. This proposal that the Company provided to us on day 15 of the strike did not satisfy your contract demands or needs.
