The United Auto Workers supports the transition to a clean auto industry and has been a proud leader in the fight against climate change. We will carefully review the EPA’s proposals and look forward to working with the Biden Administration in pursuit of standards that are good for workers and the environment. President Biden promised to be the most pro-union President in our country’s history. Two years into his first term, he has made good on his promise time and time again. Under his leadership, Congress passed landmark laws like the Inflation Reduction Act, CHIPS and Science Act, and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Today UAW members who work for General Motors received the news that they may receive up to $12,750 in profit sharing. UAW members have earned their share of the company’s prosperity, and this negotiated benefit reflects that contribution. Our members are essential to the success of General Motors.  UAW members bring skill, experience, and dedication to the job every day and are well deserving of today’s news. UAW and Forever Energy Announce Neutrality Agreement

Detroit, MI, Shreveport, LA (Sept. 22, 2022) – The International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) and Forever Energy announced they have reached a labor neutrality agreement that captures the company and union’s commitment to mutual respect and open communication. Forever Energy’s new facility will be in the one-million-square-foot factory that was shuttered in 2012 by General Motors at Port of Caddo Bossier in Shreveport, Louisiana. Today President Biden once again showed that his Administration stands with working families over special interests by forgiving up to $20,000 in debt for Pell Grant recipients and up to $10,000 for non-Pell Grant recipients for borrowers who earn less than $125,000 per year or households earning less than $250,000.
