A coalition of labor leaders today called on the Michigan Civil Service Commission to reject proposed rule changes that, if approved, would go into effect Jan. 1, 2019. These changes are aimed at severely limiting the collective bargaining process and undermining the rights of State of Michigan Employees. *****BARGAINING UPDATE****** UAW Local 6000’s bargaining team has reached a tentative agreement with the state of Michigan in contract negotiations regarding wages and benefits for the two-year period beginning Oct. 1, 2017. The tentative agreement for the UAW members working for the state of Michigan includes wage increases in both years of the contract. In addition, there is no increase in costs or loss of any benefits in their insurance.
