UAW Vollrath Workers in Sheboygan Go on Strike Over Fair Contract, Wages and Elimination of Tiers

Over 265 members of UAW Local 1472 went on strike Monday and began picketing Vollrath Manufacturing Services in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Vollrath produces deep drawing, metal spinning, metal fabrication, annealing, polishing & finishing and refrigeration systems as a major employer for Sheboygan families. “We want to get a fair contract for our members, their families, and those who depend on them.  We will keep standing up for all of our people,” said  Rob Kilgore, President/Bargaining Chair of UAW Local 1472. John Deere UAW Members Ratify a 6-Year Agreement With Substantial Gains

A strike that captured the mood of a nation in search of fairness in wages and benefits for workers, ended  today when UAW John Deere members ratified a landmark agreement after weeks of striking. By a vote of 61% to 39%, UAW John Deere members ratified the agreement, which includes an $8,500 signing bonus; 20% increase in wages over the lifetime of the contract with 10% this year; return of Cost of Living adjustments; three 3% lump sum payments; enhanced options for retirement and enhanced CIPP performance benefits. UAW John Deere Members Begin Face Shield Production

Yesterday, UAW Local 434 members at John Deere in Moline, Illinois began producing face shields for health care workers battling COVID-19 in their communities. The original run will produce 25,000 face shields with materials on order to produce another 200,000. The shields will be distributed to local health care facilities, as well as being used by production workers to ensure they’re safe while producing the equipment. “This is a very proud day for the UAW and our UAW members. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and UAW partnering to identify buyer for the Illinois plant

Region 4 Director, Ron McInroy Normal, Ill. & Detroit, Mich., (July 27, 2015) — Today, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and the United Auto Workers (UAW) announced following news that Mitsubishi Motors will end production at its Normal plant at the end of November 2015, pending a final decision by the Board of Directors’ meeting.
