UAW Members Endorse Roger Manno for Maryland Congressional Race

Because of his commitment to supporting working families and a strong middle-class economy, the UAW has announced its endorsement of State Senator Roger Manno for Maryland’s 6th Congressional District race. “Senator Manno has a proven track record in the Maryland legislature for standing up for workers,” said UAW Region 8 Director Ray Curry. Ford to invest $25 Million in Kentucky Plant

Ford has announced new investments in its Kentucky Truck Plant, due to increasing demand from consumers. The company plans to invest an additional $25 million—on top of the $900 Million it has already invested—to boost production of the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition. UAW Members at Baltimore Horseshoe Casino Ratify First-Ever Contract

UAW table games, poker dealers and dual-rate dealers at the Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore have ratified their first-ever contract, winning significant wage increases and greatly improving their benefits, job security and health and safety. Nissan Union Vote Set for Aug. 3-4 in Mississippi

Statement in Response to Volkswagen Appeal of NLRB Order

Chattanooga, Tenn. — Gary Casteel, secretary-treasurer of the UAW and director of the International Union’s Transnational Department, today released the following statement in response to the decision by Volkswagen to appeal an order by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) requiring the company to collectively bargain with skilled trades employees: “We’re disappointed that Volkswagen is continuing to thumb its nose at the federal government. UAW welcomes Magna Seating Members: Spring Hill Plant Votes Overwhelmingly to Join UAW

Spring Hill, Tenn. – By a nearly unanimous vote workers at Magna Seating International, a new facility in Spring Hill, Tenn. voted last evening to join the UAW International Union.
