Statement of UAW on Idling of Stellantis Belvidere Plant on February 28

Last December, Stellantis NV announced its decision to idle the Belvidere Assembly Plant in Illinois on February 28, 2023, by refusing to put a new product into the award-winning plant. “UAW Local 1268 members at Belvidere have proudly built vehicles for Chrysler, then FCA and now Stellantis since 1965. 2022 National CAP Conference: Day 3 Highlights

Region 4 members meet with Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) The morning gets busy Day three of the National Cap Conference began as the delegates attended Regional breakfasts to plan their lobby day.  Among elected officials who also shared breakfast with UAW delegates were Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Elissa Slotkin (D-MI 8th),  Debbie Dingell (D-MI 12th) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI 13th) among others. Heroes on the Front Lines: Sandy Welch

UAW Local 95 member Sandy Welch is a five-year cancer survivor. She has high blood pressure, too. That means her immune system is not 100%. But, while others in Wisconsin are told to stay home, she heads to work every day as a medical transcriptionist at a medical clinic in Janesville. “I have a compromised immune system and sometimes I think about that, but I don’t let that take over my thoughts,” she said. UAW Merges Additional States into Region 8 and Region 4

The UAW International Executive Board (IEB) voted on December 5 to merge the states represented by UAW Region 5 between UAW Regions 4 and 8. This merger became effective today, February 28, 2020. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and UAW partnering to identify buyer for the Illinois plant

Region 4 Director, Ron McInroy Normal, Ill. & Detroit, Mich., (July 27, 2015) — Today, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and the United Auto Workers (UAW) announced following news that Mitsubishi Motors will end production at its Normal plant at the end of November 2015, pending a final decision by the Board of Directors’ meeting.
