Vice President Joe Biden Visits UAW Region 1

Today, Vice President Joe Biden visited UAW Region 1 in Warren, Michigan to lay out his plan to revitalize American manufacturing. He proposed a program to reward the creation of American jobs and disincentivize corporate offshoring through the use of tax credits and penalties. He also committed to using the United States government’s purchasing power to buy American-made goods. Just after sunset on a resurgent Detroit, UAW Secretary-Treasurer Ray Curry and U.S. Senator Gary Peters called the Michigan roll for Joe Biden at the 2020 Democratic National Convention live from Belle Isle’s Sunset Point. Secretary-Treasurer Curry said it was a high honor for working families and the UAW because of Biden’s long track record of support for labor.
