Region 4 members meet with Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) The morning gets busy Day three of the National Cap Conference began as the delegates attended Regional breakfasts to plan their lobby day.  Among elected officials who also shared breakfast with UAW delegates were Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Elissa Slotkin (D-MI 8th),  Debbie Dingell (D-MI 12th) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI 13th) among others. More than 60 Labor Unions, Environmental Organizations, and Advocacy Groups Urge Inclusion of Union Provision in Build Back Better EV Tax Credit

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, more than 60 labor unions, environmental groups, and faith, consumer, health, and economic justice organizations sent a letter to Senate Democrats urging them to support the inclusion of a bonus tax credit for consumer electric vehicles manufactured in factories where workers are represented by a union, a provision included in the Build Back Better Act. The updated credit offers the expanded benefit to consumers at the point of sale and includes a phased-in domestic manufacturing requirement and collective bargaining bonus. The U.S. Senate is scheduled to vote this week on a bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and end Medicaid as we know it.  This mean-spirited bill, sponsored by Republican Senators Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, would radically change our health care system, leading to unaffordable care for millions of Americans.  This bill would drastically cut coverage for seniors, children, veterans, and people with disabilities. Medicaid, the largest provider of long-term care for seniors in the country, would cease to exist as we know it in only nine years.  If passed, this bill would end federal ...
