Detroit Mayor thanks UAW for being part of the city’s comeback

The UAW’s 37th Constitutional Convention opened this afternoon with a robust welcome by Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan extending a big thank you to the union for the good work members continue to do. Approximately 1,100 delegates are attending the convention. The event is held every four years to conduct the union’s business, including electing International officers. Workers turn out for 2017 Labor Day with a big message

Workers from across the state turned out in Detroit’s Labor Day March and showed that when working people have the freedom to come together in strong unions, we have the power in numbers we need to negotiate a fair return on our work. They marched with progressive allies, and pro-worker politicians who stood up for the freedom to form strong unions and unrig the economy.
