UAW Members Ratify National Agreement with GM Subsystems LLC with 96% Support

UAW-Made Chevrolet Bolt named North American Car of the Year

DETROIT — Chevrolet Bolt EV is the 2017 North American Car of the Year. The Bolt EV’s recognition marks the fourth time in four years that Chevrolet has received the North American Car of the Year or Truck of the Year award, following the Corvette Stingray and Silverado’s wins in 2014 and the Colorado’s award in 2015. UAW Members at Local 5960 to Build Autonomous Vehicles

DETROIT —  General Motors announced today that workers at UAW Local 5960, Orion Township assembly plant will build test fleet Bolt EVs equipped with fully autonomous technology. The plant currently manufactures the Chevrolet Bolt EV and Sonic. The new equipment will include LIDAR, cameras, sensors and other hardware designed to ensure system safety, leveraging GM’s proven manufacturing quality standards.
