Jeremiah Lane, Parking Enforcement Officer in Lansing, MI Since 2015, Jeremiah Lane has been a parking enforcement officer in Lansing, Michigan.  He’s also a UAW member who, like workers everywhere, needs protection in the workplace. “You get used to the name Meter Maid very quickly,” said Lane. “Every curse word you could imagine I heard in my first week.  I’ve had bottles thrown at me, I’ve been spit at. Lansing Van-Rob workers vote to join the UAW

LANSING – Workers at the Kirchhoff Group/Van-Rob plant in Lansing, Michigan, voted to join the UAW Thursday by a vote of 60 to 43. Van-Rob makes welded metal assemblies for General Motors’ Lansing Grand River plant, including cross-car beams and rocker panels for the Camaro. “Winning the election was just the first step. I’m proud of how my co-workers stood together, and I know we’ll stay united until we negotiate a fair contract that makes real changes and puts them in writing,” said Alejandro Albarez, a production worker at the plant. Donald Trump is coming back to Michigan after his disastrous economic speech in Detroit two weeks ago. This time, he’s holding an event outside of Lansing. But no matter how many times he visits Michigan, we know that Trump would be a disaster for Michigan. GM’s Lansing Grand River Assembly to Add Third Shift and More Than 500 Jobs

DETROIT – General Motors is adding a third shift and more than 500 hourly and salaried jobs at Lansing Grand River Assembly to meet forecasted market demand for the award-winning 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. The addition of a third shift will increase the plant’s workforce to approximately 2,300 when hiring is completed. The sixth generation Camaro, which began shipping to customers in November, as well as the award-winning Cadillac CTS and ATS are also produced at Lansing Grand River.
