“We are disheartened by the misconduct alleged in today’s indictment. Ms. King is no longer with the union and hasn’t been since February 2016. Based on our own internal investigation, we believe anyone who engaged in intentional misconduct is no longer employed by the UAW. We continue to cooperate with the DOJ and share information with the government.”

FCA Global Union Alliance Plans First U.S. Conference in Detroit Vice President – Norwood Jewell Union leaders whose members work at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Group around the world will convene in March to seek solutions to problems of mutual concern to the company and its unions. The UAW is among 12 unions from eight countries expected to send delegates to the FCA-CNHind Global Union Network Conference taking place March 14-16 at the UAW-Chrysler National Training Center in Detroit. Statement from UAW Vice President Norwood Jewell on FCA US Profit-Sharing Announcement

“Today FCA US announced that UAW members will get an average of $5,000 in profit-sharing payments. Based on the new contract formula that UAW members bargained in 2015 negotiations, some employees could be eligible for higher payments based on compensated hours. UAW members at FCA US are proud of the quality Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and RAM products they produce, and through collectively bargained profit-sharing, the hard work and success of our members’ is rewarded.”

New UAW Legal Services Plan to Begin Opening Cases

The UAW-FCA-Ford-General Motors Legal Services Plan that was  negotiated in 2015 contracts will begin taking cases on Wednesday, Jan. 25. “I am pleased to announce that UAW members will be able to participate in this benefit starting next Wednesday, and I would like to commend vice presidents Jimmy Settles, Cindy Estrada and Norwood Jewell, and our national negotiating teams for the hard work at the bargaining table to bring the Legal Services Plan back,” said UAW President Dennis Williams. “I am pleased to announce that the UAW has finalized the documents with GM, Ford and FCA that establish the new Legal Services Plan that was bargained during the most recent round of negotiations with the Big 3. Benefits covered under this plan will include a variety of office legal services as outlined in the collective bargaining agreements and are available to all eligible active members, retirees and surviving spouses. UAW members mourn the passing of former International Vice President Marc Stepp

Marc Stepp was the first African-American to lead negotiations at a Detroit 3 automaker. The UAW’s International Executive Board and members recently bid farewell to Marc Stepp, “a trailblazer, a beloved union leader and a committed community activist,” said UAW President Dennis Williams. “Marc set several milestones, including being the first African-American to lead negotiations at a Detroit 3 automaker.
