MERCEDES WORKERS STAND UP!
HEADS HELD HIGH
It goes without saying that today’s vote count did not give us the results we hoped for.
But here’s what I know. Over 2,000 of our coworkers at Mercedes want a union. Despite all the harassment, intimidation, and lies from management. Despite the “give me another chance” speeches. None of us deserved to go through that. And yet we’ve got 2,000 people who still voted for this union.
In this campaign, we’ve already accomplished so much.
We got our coworkers raises through this campaign.
We ended the wage tiers through this campaign.
We even got rid of our CEO through this campaign.
So if they need another chance, let’s see how they do. Let’s ask them why we still don’t have what tens of thousands of autoworkers across the country have with the UAW.
Today, I hope you’re able to spend time with your loved ones. Of course there’s disappointment. But I hope you’re also able to find a place in your day to celebrate what we did.
Tomorrow is another day, and we’ve still got a mountain to move at Mercedes. I know you’ll stick with the fight until we get what we deserve for our families and ourselves.
In solidarity,
Jeremy Kimbrell
