UAW Vice President Terry Dittes

Terry was hired at the Fisher Body Plant in Trenton, New Jersey in 1978, and became a member of UAW Local 731. He then transferred to GM Parts in 1980 in Bensalem, Pennsylvania and became a member of amalgamated UAW Local 585. He later became a member of UAW Local 2177 when his unit was granted a UAW Charter.
Terry was elected Alternate Committeeperson in 1985 at UAW Local 2177, Committeeperson in 1986 and 1989, and Chair of the Shop Committee in 1992 for 3 consecutive terms.
In August 1999, he was appointed to the Region 9 Servicing Staff by Region 9 Director Geri Ochocinska and UAW President Stephen P. Yokich. In February 2012 Terry served as Assistant Director of the UAW Gaming Department, before serving as Assistant Director of Region 9 in April 2013.
Terry was elected Director of Region 9 at a Special Election in Buffalo, New York on March 26, 2014 and re-elected as Director at the UAW’s 36th Constitutional Convention in June 2014.
Terry became a UAW Vice President on January 2, 2018 and was re-elected Vice President at the Union’s 37th Constitutional Convention in June 2018. As Vice President, he has directed the FCA, Agricultural Implement, Heavy Truck, General Dynamics, Gaming and General Motors Departments.
Terry married his wife, Gail, in 1979 in Warwick, Rhode Island. They have six (6) children: Melissa, Amy, Ryan, Kevin, Matthew and Teresa. They also have nine (9) grandchildren: Dominick, Vincent, Gabrielle, Annabelle, Victoria, Ryan, Zachary, Violet and Chase as well as two sons-in-law, Nick Esposito and Ryan Gordon, and three daughters-in-law, Lindsay Dittes, Carlie Dittes and Tiamarie Dittes. Terry and Gail and his entire family reside in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area.
