White Shirt Day 2016

Today is the UAW’s annual White Shirt Day when we honor the anniversary of the brave men and women who, in 1936-37, won recognition of the UAW at General Motors in the Flint Sit-Down Strike that ended Feb. 11, 1937. Each year on White Shirt Day, UAW members wear white shirts to symbolize that, by wearing a shirt traditionally worn by management, workers are equal to management. Thank you for laying the foundation of the middle class and workers’ rights, Flint Sit-Downers. Check out this White Shirt Day video commemoration.
