‘Last Night I Had the Sweetest Dream'

Last night I had the sweetest dream
It seemed to be heaven sent
On a cold frosty morning early next year
We got a new president.

I dreamed he gave a mighty speech
And it thrilled me through and through
He said we stand united at last
Martin's dream has finally come true.

He said we strayed far off our course
Were blind till hope made us see
We're only as great as our love for each other
Safe in our world family.

And the people all over the world watched on
I could tell that they wished us well
As we turned our backs on torture and fear
The chimes of freedom did knell.

They rang all the way from New Orleans
To the cells in Guantanamo Bay
They rang for the union proud and strong
They rang out a brand new day.

Last night I had the sweetest dream
I never dreamed before
Barack and Michelle, and Malia and Sasha
Walked through the White House door.
