"...and the winner of this week's "Race to the Bottom" is..."

Doug on 3-day week

Doug Fraser was such fun to be around. He was always open and kind.
During a strike in the late 1970s, a reporter asked Doug why the UAW kept pushing for a four-day week.

His reply, with the characteristic twinkle of the eye: "We don't see how we can get by on three — yet."

Doug led by example

Doug Fraser led, not by words, but by example.
I consider it a privilege to have known him personally for the past 25 years.

Candidates must commit

While it is clear that no union member or sympathizer should vote for John McCain, our union's endorsement should be decided on more than an ABM ("Anybody but McCain") basis.

A presidential candidate wanting our union's endorsement must be prepared to make specific commitments to organized labor.
Being a Democrat is simply not enough.

Fishing for UAW members

We're writing to let UAW members know about the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance (USA), a hunting and fishing club exclusively for union sportsmen and their families.

We're both strong supporters of our union and love the outdoors. We believe this organization could benefit our members and also be a positive tool in organizing new members.

To learn more about the alliance, visit unionsportsmen.org.
