Help feed the hungry: Donate to the National Association of Letter Carriers' food drive

On Saturday, May 12, you can help alleviate hunger in America.

The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will conduct the nation’s largest one-day food drive in all 50 states and U.S. jurisdictions.

Residents are asked to leave nonperishable donations in a bag near their mailbox on Saturday, before the letter carrier arrives. The letter carrier does the rest, taking the food to the post office where it is sorted and delivered to the area food bank, pantry or shelter.

In this economy, many of the working poor and their families face hunger every day. More than 9 million children in America go to bed hungry. This drive is one way to help those right in our own cities and towns who need help.
