UAW and EMU Partner in OSHA Training Institute— Motor City Education Center

The UAW and the Eastern Michigan University have begun a safety training partnership. Named the Motor City Education Center the collaborative effort is one of 16 OSHA satellite training centers in the US.

The OSHA Training Courses offered through Motor City Education have excellent trainers recruited from UAW professional staff and from the UAW rank and file. Each trainer has practical knowledge in health and safety gained on the job. They are experienced in adult education techniques.

Completing courses at the Motor City Education Center will give students the opportunity to become instructors. Completion of the train the trainer course (OSHA 501) will allow students to conduct both a 10-hour and a 30-hour general industry course.
Students can earn Continuing Education Unit credits (CEUs) and Safety-CM Points, with the successful completion of the OSHA courses.
