Communication to UAW Chrysler retirees and spouses

UAW Vice President General Holiefield will send a letter on Monday, May 11, 2009, to 87,000 UAW-represented retirees and surviving spouses. Included was the local union numbers, names of UAW benefit representatives, telephone numbers and hours of operation when they can be reached. Vice President Holiefield wanted to insure that retirees have an avenue to address issues of concern.

An insert was also included in regards to benefits which was a part of the ratification summary. This mailing sent by Vice President Holiefield is not intended to replace the approval of notice procedures mailing described in the May 6th Chrysler Update. All of these procedures will be spelled out in more detail in a mailing to UAW Chrysler retirees. That mailing will also include material from the UAW summarizing the proposed agreement in more detail, and indicating the UAW's support for the proposed agreements.
