UAW Region 4 Veterans
Built by and for UAW veterans in Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest,

Dennis
Williams was elected director of UAW Region 4 at a special
convention in 2001. He was re-elected in June 2002 and again in June 2006 at the
union's Constitutional Conventions in Las Vegas.
Region 4 includes Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Williams helped 2,800 UAW Local 2488 members at Mitsubishi in Normal, Ill., win a five-year contract in 2001 that improved wages and benefits, maintaining parity with UAW DaimlerChrysler. (The plant was originally a Mitsubishi-Chrysler joint venture.)
Williams served as assistant director of Region 4 from 1995 until his election as director. He joined UAW Local 806, which represented UAW members at Case Corp. in 1977, and chaired the bargaining committee. He was appointed an international representative in 1988 and assigned to organizing. Williams played a key role in organizing Mitsubishi Local 2488, MBL USA Local 2323, and East Moline Metal Products, Local 1948.
From 1992 to 1995, Williams serviced IPS, TOP and other national agreements. Williams is currently a member of UAW Local 807 in East Moline, Ill. Prior to joining the UAW, Williams served four years in the U.S. Marines.
Williams and his wife, Donna, have two sons and live in Gurnee, Ill.
